Focus on Success
Garth Finney, Program Manager
 Garth Finney |
Garth has been in Sales and Sales Operations Management for over 25 years. His career started in the corporate offices of Lucas Bros., the oldest furniture supply company in the country. He was employed there for 12 years, in positions ranging from warehouse operations to the top-rated salesperson, and worked as the Director of Operations until the company was sold.
After that, Garth enjoyed a seven-year sales career, spending most of his time as a National Accounts Manager, working with Fannie Mae and Sallie Mae. With a swift transition to the mortgage industry, Garth has enjoyed 15 years of success as a loan officer, branch manager, franchisee, and, in the last few years before joining SFI, partner in a private lending group focused on commercial investments.
An avid tennis player and officiator, Garth is a competitive captain for the United States Tennis Association (USTA), where he has coached many teams to District, Sectional, and National Championships. As a USTA referee, he was awarded the Maryland Umpire of the Year in 2009, and now serves as Vice Chair of the Association of Maryland Tennis Officials.
Garth is a lifelong resident of Howard County and currently lives in Ellicott City. He has two primary philosophies while walking through life: "Bring peace!" and "There are no big deals." Living by these beliefs and teaching them to his two teenage daughters are the foundation for his view on participating in Life's Ballet rather than Life's Hockey Match.
