Focus on Success Charles Smee, International Partner European Market Development
He is an outstanding creative and strategic international business developer and team motivator who is extremely ROI focused and who is skilled at tailoring marketing programmes to support the sales process. Charles views sales and marketing as totally integrated disciplines. He focuses on sales retention and regeneration beyond acquisition and has many years of telemarketing and customer service expertise, including service recovery. Uniquely, Charles offers a three dimensional perspective, having worked in 6 different countries for a) an FMCG manufacturer (Rothmans), b) two multinational WPP advertising agencies (Grey and Bates) and c) for a regional distributor. In August 2004, Charles founded Transaction Focus, an outsourced sales and marketing provider based in the UK and covering all key European markets. Charles led the team that ran Kimberly-Clark Professional's first successful outsourced sales project in Europe and has rapidly shaped dynamic outsourced sales teams that have transformed the sales revenue of a number mid-sized European companies. Charles has an Institute of Sales Promotion (ISP) diploma and a BA Honors degree in Economics and History and a Diplome from the Universite de la Sorbonne in Paris. He is also a bilingual French speaker, a keen golfer, skier, cricketer, tennis player and cycles around Europe for charity.
